Philosophy of Health
Natural health care (using “fuel” in the form of food and nutrition and “activation” in the form of any sensory stimulation, such as adjusting your spine or ankle, tapping or rubbing an acupressure point, generalized massage, movement or exercise, light, sound, smell, etc.) is primary health care. This is the path from abnormal physiology or function toward optimal function and longevity.
Traditional medical care (drugs and surgery) is alternative health care or crisis care that can alleviate an emergency situation; however, applying this approach to a chronic disease will generally disguise the imbalance, only to progress in the disease process.
You may alleviate a diabetic crisis with a drug; however, if you do not balance the nutritional causes of diabetes, the disease will progress, requiring more drugs and less function over time. You may alleviate pain with a drug, but unless the physical and/or chemical cause of the pain is resolved, you will need greater dosage or strength of the drug over time. Your health and longevity suffer. You may live through a heart attack in an emergency room, but if you don’t handle the cause of clogged vessels, you will have another, each time more likely to be fatal.
Natural health care is not fear based, it is education based. In this office, it is partnering with a physician knowledgeable in the function of the human body and mind in a scientific approach to increase your level of function in body and mind. This site will introduce you to the methodology of natural health care, some of the science behind it, and success stories that have been achieved.
If you are unsatisfied with the approach that traditional medicine offers…
If you think there should be a more natural way…
If you are afraid not to do what your doctor says, and feel like a nuisance when you ask questions or try to understand …
If you feel deflated, not uplifted and hopeful, in your doctor/patient relationship…
If you don’t feel totally knowledgeable as a consumer…
You have found your solution.
You are a consumer of health care! This is an important point to make. Would you purchase a vehicle from a salesman that used fear and manipulation strategies, didn’t offer the safety and longevity records, didn’t educate you on the product, or how to take care of the vehicle? No! You are a consumer…vote with your pocketbook. Find a physician that listens, explains, and enlightens you. One who gives you understanding and hope! Vote for a better way!
GAP: A BETTER WAY
GAP is your general adaptation potential. That means “how much stress can you endure?” Physical, chemical, and mental stress.
Take for example the 30 year old jock who is giving up softball because of continuous injuries. His or her GAP has been reduced by muscle tightness, inflexibility, poor coordination, and weakness. He or she could stop playing, and routinely decrease stressors throughout life, ending in a degenerative disease and premature death…or we could have him or her playing again through finding and correcting those physical imbalances.
Take for example the diabetic who can not eat a cookie without throwing his blood sugar into a dangerous spike. That person has lost GAP by overloading sugar and carbohydrates, not eating the right kinds of fat and protein, and not getting optimal levels of vitamins and minerals. He could even eat a cookie again, without dangerously high blood sugar, once we have reset the metabolism of sugar by taking away the carbohydrates and providing the right fuel in the form of protein, fat, vitamins and minerals.
Take for example the person who is paralyzed by fear of rejection and therefore can’t perform at her job effectively. She is so focused on failure that she gets nothing but failure, and she stops attempting to win or even play the game. Her GAP is reduced by negative thought patterns, belief systems, or past traumatic events. We can make this person a confident winner by adjusting her focus, her attention and her thoughts toward an empowering pattern.
The concept of GAP is empowering, because there is no limit to what level you can achieve. Think of the greatest physical performers, mental and emotional leaders, and the growing group of “healthy 100 year olds.” They have trained their nervous system to adapt to their environment and excel in certain areas of their life.
A chronic pain sufferer versus 90 year old fitness guru, Jack Lalanne.
A diabetic versus an Okinawa centenarian (Okinawa is often studied for its large numbers of healthy 100 year olds).
A chronic depression sufferer versus spiritual author, Wayne Dyer.
That is GAP, and YOU have no limit! Visit our WELLNESS FORMULA to learn how to change your GAP.
