Lab Analysis
Lab tests can be ordered without seeing Dr. Stone personally. If you choose to run a lab without an office visit, you must sign a waiver of liability indicating that you are not a patient of True Health Family Wellness Center and that the lab results and written report and recommendations are for informational purposes only. A single lab test is not to be substituted for personal medical evaluation and care.
Each lab will come with a written report explaining the results, with dietary and supplement recommendations based on the results. You will receive the results and report via your choice of regular mail, email, or fax. The supplements recommended (if appropriate) are produced by a variety of companies nationally and internationally and can be ordered directly through our office, or you can call the company for a local physician referral that carries that brand.

OPTICHEM BLOOD AND URINE ANALYSIS:
This is a comprehensive chemistry analysis that includes a full metabolic panel, thyroid, cholesterol, white and red blood cell counts, CRP (inflammation), protein, iron, magnesium, sugar, and electrolytes. We use this panel for overall health and wellness evaluations, as well as problem solving…”Why am I tired, why do I hurt, why do I get sick so often, why do I just feel lousy?” This panel is performed by a top lab in the country. Check their website for draw locations near you (LABCORP). Check your overall health and function of your sugar metabolism, fat metabolism, energy metabolism, bone metabolism, liver, gall bladder, heart, immune system, kidneys, thyroid and digestion. This is our “lab test of choice” to begin a diagnostic process or problem solving.
ASI (ADRENAL STRESS INDEX):
This test evaluates levels of cortisol, DHEA, insulin, and progesterone in order to evaluate your body’s response to stress. Elevated or depressed stress hormones can result in fatigue, pain, and a general accelerated aging process of your body. Elevated cortisol, in particular, is associated with many chronic degenerative diseases, such as arthritis, dementia, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. This test is performed at home, collecting 4 saliva samples throughout a typical day.
DIGESTIVE FUNCTION ANALYSIS:
This may not be the favorite lab test, but for those suffering with chronic digestive disturbances, it can provide much needed answers to their problems. This panel involves a stool collection and analysis for various pathogens and digestive function. The sample is collected at home and mailed directly to the lab for analysis.
FEMALE HORMONES:
This panel tests the cyclical variation in female hormones over a 28 day cycle. It can be done at home by collecting saliva samples at specific days of the cycle. This profile has important applications in the prevention and treatment of the most common and the most critical health conditions facing women, including PMS, Perimenopause, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Dysmenorrhea, Fibrocystic Breast Disease, Sexual Dysfunction, Breast Cancer, Heart Disease, Dementia, and Osteoporosis. There is a post menopause variation available as well.
MALE HORMONES:
This panel tests for several male hormones in one saliva sample. It can be used to help problem solve in low libido, decreased muscle mass, mood and energy issues, and other male health problems.
HAIR ANALYSIS FOR TOXIC AND NUTRIENT METALS AND MINERALS:
This panel evaluates a hair sample for exposure to toxic elements such as mercury or lead, as well as several nutrient minerals. This is particularly useful in evaluating neurological disorders such as memory loss, depression, and movement disorders, as well as chronic fatigue.
BRAIN CHEMISTRY ASSESSMENT:
This panel reveals brain chemistry imbalances that can contribute to insomnia, fatigue, depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia and other pain disorders. The test involves a simple urine collection that you mail directly to the lab for analysis of serotonin, dopamine, norepinepherine and other neurotransmitters. It is a relatively new technology, but has shown promise in uncovering chemistry imbalances keeping you from your best health and life.
LIVER DETOXIFICATION PROFILE
This is a urine analysis following a challenge dosing of Tylenol and caffeine. It measures the liver’s ability to metabolize these substances by testing the level of urinary clearance in 24 hours. Liver detoxification issues can contribute to headaches, pain, weight gain, fatigue, and memory, focus and attention (brain) disorders.
BREAST CANCER RISK ASSESSMENT
This test is a simple urine screen for the ratios of 2-OH versus 16-OH Estrogen. The 2-OH estrogen is associated with lower rates of breast cancer, and can be modified by dietary and nutritional changes.
